This punishment was given to the whole class because a few Younglings did not exercise self-control. They showed poor judgement when they chose to talk in lightsabre drills class when Master Kenobi had come to visit Master Yoda. They thought they had finished their work, when in fact, it was another lesson Master Yoda wished to show us. Their choice affected more than just themselves. Their choice to talk instead of a quiet activity such as meditating resulted in the whole class suffering the consequences. I am upset that those of us who were not talking have to write this essay. It's true that some beings in our class were talking when they were not supposed to, but I think Master Yoda wanted to show us that we are all responsible for what happens. It was also wrong for the kids to interrupt Master Kenobi during the discussion, but this was also only a few kids, not the whole class. The Younglings who interrupted should have to write this essay, not the ones who were not talking. I know Master Windu will tell us to find peace in the force, but it's just not fair, especially since Master Yoda knows who it was doing the talking. One way to avoid this problem of random talking when we're not supposed to, would be to have five minutes before starting the lightsabre drills or classwork to talk and exchange news with each other. That would let us have our say and we would not get into trouble for talking when training or other activity is going on and we need to be quiet. Another way is allowing us to tell each other to be quiet, rather than getting in trouble for staying silent. Right now, it seems we suffer for both. I don't know why being a Jedi means having to be punished all the time for the misbehavior of a few.
