Wookiee Hut Cuisine presents: Euro Diner Murray Hill, NYC 212-686-0372 Review by SuSu, MaceVindaloo, WienGrrl, Diana First warning — this brightly lit, clean looking, colorful diner is virtually empty, when every diner on the intersection is packed to the gills. But it was late, we needed something to eat, and we didn't want to wait half an hour for a table at one of the packed, loud places. We hadn't seen each other in a long while, and wanted to talk and be heard. Second warning — huge menu! That normally means packaged and prepared and frozen stuff that needs only to be nuked or steamed or boiled to become anything you want it to be. Third and final warning — the food was "not bad," but neither was it good. It was bland and disappointing, but served hygienically and properly. We doublechecked with others who had been there and they said the same thing. The turkeyburger was completely without flavor — had to stick the coleslaw that came with it on it to give it any. This answers why Australian burgers are served with coleslaw under the top bun. The omelet and poached eggs were correct, but bland. The fries had good texture but again, no flavor. Even the bagel and creamcheese were simply textures. The good stuff? It's not overpriced like the more populated eateries nearby, it's brightly lit, it's very colorful, the staff is friendly but not too knowledgeable.
